Woven Leaves - I love leaves of all shapes
and sizes. I used all copper components forming the woven leaves
out of 16, 18 & 20 gauge copper wire and woven with dark
blue, lime or tangerine 28-30 gauge Artistic Wire. Various pearls,
seeds and crystals were also used in the weaving. Though the
solid copper leaves were not made by me in this project, it IS
something I'm working on.

I created this ring by first fabricating two
rings using copper strip I cut from some copper sheet. Then I
soldered square tubing onto the sides of each ring. Then I filled
the rings with concrete pigmented black/grey. I inserted some
sterling silver strip and wire, and a piece of tubing into the
center of the concrete until it set then sanded the surface flat.
The band is made of two sterling silver rings which have a thick
'wire bar' attached to the top and is inserted through the tubing
in the center of the large concrete disc. The entire piece is
held together with bent Sterling silver wire flared into rivets
at the ends. IT SPINS, like a merry go round.

Bracelet is sterling sheet, sterling wire,
and 14/20 gold fill wire. The discs were cut, hammered, domed,
and patina. Two of the jump rings were soldered, cut and hammered
flat, the balance were cut. The toggle was also hand made by
me.

Crafted from copper and sterling silver wire,
this choker rides up the length of your neck and the smoky quartz
drops settle around your collar bone. Everything in the choker
was made by me except the smoky quartz drops and beads. Even
the chain was made by winding wire around a mandrel and then
cutting and shaping the figure-8 links. This piece reminds me
of something to be worn to a Renaissance Fair.

This pendant was made at the request of my
friend, as a gift to the departing leader of the Chelsea Creek
Action Group, who are working hard to restore a creek that feeds
into Boston Harbor. The pendant is two sterling rounds soldered
together, the front one sawn out to frame the images representing
the stream: the texturing represents reeds and little fishes,
a soldered on copper sun is stamped with a swirl, and hammered
copper wire waves flow across the front, outside the frame. The
silver was given a liver of sulfur treatment. The beads are apatite,
olive jade, and silver. The hook and eye clasp and all jump rings
are all handmade, as was the little tag that bears the group's
acronym and the year. Simple beaded hoop earrings were included
to make it a set! |
